Fresenius Medical Care operates over 3200 dialysis clinics nation wide. Faced with a nursing shortage, the company needed a way to attract and retain top talent in a very competitive job market on the employer side.

Solution

Using its deep understanding of the market, Signature developed a differentiating proposition for FMC named UltraCare. The idea behind UltraCare was to strongly brand FMC’s approach to delivering care with clearly defined standards of excellence. These standards included leadership, teamwork and technical expertise. Each clinic and employee had to meet these standards in order to be certified as an UltraCare clinic. In order to clearly communicate this ultra standard of care to current and potential FMC caregivers, Signature developed a portfolio of tools including training videos/brochures, patient testimonial videos, ads posters and an instructional kit for caregivers.

Results

UltraCare set FMC apart in the mind of candidates and current employees as a corporate commitment to career development and the delivery of industry leading patient care. The UltraCare certification became a highly desirable distinction and was seen as a career booster. Recruiting, retention, morale and patient care were all significantly impacted – UltraCare created tangible value from what had been no more than an undefined serongt of clinical aspirations.
